Frequently Asked Questions – Glass Greenhouse & Indoor Farming Solutions

1. What crops are most suitable for your glass greenhouse systems?

Our structures are optimized for high-wire vegetables (tomato, cucumber, pepper), leafy greens (lettuce, herbs), soft fruits (strawberry, raspberry) and floriculture (rose, orchid). The gutter height, hanging load and climate controls can be tuned to each crop type.

2. How long does it take to receive a greenhouse after ordering?

Standard 3–5 ha projects: 30–45 days for manufacturing + 25–35 days sea freight. Customized engineering or larger acreage may add 2–3 weeks. We provide a detailed Gantt chart at contract signing.

3. Do you supply only the structure, or a complete turn-key project?

Both. Clients can choose:

- Structure-only (steel, glazing, vents).

- Structure + climate + irrigation + screening.

- Full turn-key including seeding, nursery, CO₂, lighting, software and staff training.

4. What load codes do you follow?

We design to Eurocode EN 13031-1, ASCE 7 (U.S.), GB 50009 (China) or any local code. Wind, snow, seismic and crop loads are recalculated for each postcode and reviewed by a certified structural engineer.

5. Is the aluminum glazing system hail-proof?

Yes. 4 mm fully tempered glass is impact-tested with a 20 mm ice ball at 30 m/s (EN 12600). Optional 4 + 9 + 4 mm double glazing increases insulation (U 2.6) and further improves hail resistance.

6. How is the greenhouse heated?

Primary options: natural-gas hot-water boilers, biomass, geothermal wells or industrial waste-heat. Overhead and rail-pipe networks distribute 80 °C/60 °C water, maintaining 18 °C night temperature in –20 °C external conditions.

7. Can I retrofit LED lighting later?

Absolutely. Trusses are pre-drilled with M12 inserts every 500 mm, rated 30 kg point load. Cables can be run inside the gutter cavity, so adding LEDs or HPS does not require new steel.

8. What software controls climate and irrigation?

A modular climate computer with cloud connection. One dashboard shows temperature, RH, CO₂, PAR, WC, EC, pH and energy use. Algorithms can open vents, start heating, fog or shade automatically; open API allows integration with Priva, Ridder or custom farm-management platforms.

9. Do you offer crop support systems?

Yes. Galvanized crop wires (3.2 mm, 35 kg/m² tension), tomato hooks, high-wire lifting systems and mobile gutter systems are available. Load calculations ensure gutters can carry full mature crop weight plus 500 N/m² service load.

10. Is technical support available after installation?

We provide 7-day on-site commissioning, 12-month warranty on electromechanical parts, 25-year warranty on steel and glass, plus lifetime remote support (email, video, VPN into the climate computer). Annual maintenance contracts are optional.

11. How are the goods shipped and packed?

Steel components are bundled and steel-band strapped, glass is packed in export-grade plywood crates with foam separators, small parts are in labeled cartons on pallets. One hectare typically fits three 40 ft HC containers, keeping ocean cost below US $4/m² to most ports.

12. Do you help with import permits and duties?

We supply standard export documents (bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, Form A or CO). Clients use their own customs broker; we can recommend brokers experienced in greenhouse clearance if needed.
